Beginnings
In the spring of 1986, a 60 year old Minnesota Spring Training fan by the name of Jerry Kelly sat in the bleachers under the warm Vero Beach sun with thoughts of his ball playing days running through his head. It was then he recognized he wanted to play ball again!
Returning home he looked for a ball team to play with. He soon found none of the existing younger men’s teams wanted an “Old Codger” around. He could not even get a tryout! In the spring of 1988 Jerry decided to bring his dream of playing summer softball back home in St. Paul, MN. On Sunday May 29, 1988 he ran an advertisement in the St Paul Dispatch which read: “Old-time slow pitch players (55 – older), 10 AM Tuesdays and Thursdays, St. Clair playground, St. Paul. Four (4) guys showed up!
And that is how the Roseville Senior Softball Association (RSSA) started in St Paul, MN. It has become one of the largest senior softball leagues in the United States!
Mission Statement
The mission of the Roseville Senior Softball Association (RSSA) is for senior softball players over 55 years of age to participate in a safe and competitive association with the intent to keep teams balanced in playing ability and to provide fun and fellowship.
Executive Committee and League Management
The Executive Committee is elected to two-year terms by a vote of the Association members. Commissioner and Treasurer are elected in even years; Deputy Commissioner, Secretary and Member-at-large in odd years.
League directors are appointed seasonally by the Executive Committee.

Player Registration
Returning players are required to renew and update their registration data at the start of each season (summer and winter) and submit league fee to their team manager prior to first game.
New players are always welcome to join us, by submitting the form attached below.
